Spring is Nature's Time to Bloom and Blossom
"April showers bring May flowers." Despite the somewhat chaotic nature of Spring weather in April, Nature is starting to bloom and blossom and getting ready to mature and bear fruit. Interestingly, the two main phases of Spring in April are called "Clear and Bright" (qīng míng 清明) and "Grain Rain" (gǔ yǔ 谷雨) by the Chinese lunar calendar system. Apt descriptions, as downpours can happen in the blink of an eye, with the sun shining through clouds a moment later.
Flexibility in mind, body, and spirit are key to dealing with these mercurial changes and periods of growth, which were only heightened this year by the recent lunar and total solar eclipses in North America. To stay flexible and peaceful, TCM advises that one nurtures the Liver and Gallbladder organs during this busy season of birth and transformation.
Herbs, acupuncture, Qigong, meditation, self-care and stress management can all keep these organs in tiptop shape to help you go with the flow and maximize your potential for growth during the rest of the year. If you take advantage of Spring's Wood element energy now to tune up your Liver function, you'll set a strong foundation for embarking on the rest of the year's exciting creative endeavors and bringing your goals to fruition.
We wish you much continued blossoming of self, work, and prosperity in 2024.
